🗑️ Request Account and Data Deletion
You have the right to request complete deletion of your Mealie account and all associated personal data. This includes:
- Your account information (name, email)
- All saved recipes and recipe collections
- Meal plans and shopping lists
- Dietary preferences and allergy information
- Any usage data associated with your account
To request account deletion:
- Send an email to: sudogonnie@gmail.com
- Include "Mealie Account Deletion Request" in the subject line
- Provide your registered email address for verification
What happens after you request deletion:
- We will confirm your identity and process your request within 7 business days
- All your personal data will be permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days
- You will receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete
- This action is irreversible - you will lose access to all your recipes and meal plans
Alternative: You can also ask for only part of your data to be deleted.
7. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. When you delete your account (either through the app or by request), we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we're required to retain it by law.
8. Children's Privacy
Mealie is designed for users 13 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it immediately.
